For more than a decade, Janet Taylor LMT, CLT, CIMI, has touched thousands of lives with her trained and specialized effective touch. Whether within the clinical or hospital setting, or in a patient's private home, Janet has worked with clients who range from tiny preemies and infants just out of surgery, to children and adults who are in need of her comforting and pain relieving touch.
Janet has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Texas since 1996 and practices in Dallas as well as the greater Metroplex area. Early on in her budding career, while working in spas, fitness centers, and chiropractic offices, she felt a pressing need to offer comfort to the sick and distressed. Being especially drawn to work with children, in 1998, she weekly volunteered her massage services to the patients at Children's Medical Center. At that time, she also became employed at Pediatric Integrative Therapy Center, Dallas working with special needs children. She was sought out for her especially effective touch and techniques in these special needs situations.
Seeking to bring attention to this method of care, in 1999, the Volunteer Department at Children's Medical Center nominated Janet to be the recipient of a Dallas TV station's "Local Hero Award". Janet and her talents were indeed recognized and featured in Clarice Tinsley's "Home Town Hero" program for her dedicated services to her patients.
Not only did the media recognize Janet's specialized caring touch, Children's hospital did as well. The many astounding results of the caring touch approach led to the research and development of their hospital-based massage therapy program. In 2002, Children's offered Janet employment in the Pain Management Department, an offer that was unprecedented at that time.
